Somali authorities should immediately release a journalist and three others linked to the case of a woman who reported being raped by state security forces, Amnesty International, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), and Human Rights Watch said today. An EU military training mission in Somalia, under Irish command, is to remain in place for another two years. The Council of the European Union said the mission would continue to contribute to the strengthening of the Somali armed forces to prepare them to ultimately take over security responsibilities there.
