Subject: Condemn the Deadly civilian shelling of the AMISOM
Somali Child Rights Organization (SOCHRO) is based on child rights protection and advocacy, promotion child issue, and other Humanitarian Activities, Psychosocial Support; SOCHRO Branch Office is located in Kampala Uganda, and will carry-out most activities, as well, and Member of Benadir Child Protection Network (CPNM) and Partner with UNICEF- Somalia Programme S/C Zone, and the Save Children UK-SCUK- Somalia Programme S/C Zone, as well USAID-Somalia Programme S/CZ. Currently we are working with Aids Information Centre (AIC-Uganda) and we are Member of Kampala Alliance NGO’s of Oxfam GB-Uganda, and we are networking with Refugee Law Project (RLP-Uganda).
Somali Child Rights Organization (SOCHRO-Somalia,Uganda) is based on child rights protection and advocacy, promotion child issue, youth, women and other vulnerable groups. Condemn the death toll of AMISOM shelling targeted to the civilians in Bakara market and more other neighborhoods in Mogadishu has risen to 70, wounding 20 others death, just as SOCHRO-Somalia, Uganda condemn the mortars, on 29 October 2010, Friday.
AMISOM troops had shelled more different neighborhoods in Hawl-wadag, Hodan, Wardigley, Shibis and Abdal aziz districts in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Thursday afternoon, killing several civilians during the bitter shelling.
Mr. Mataan Ali Hassan the Country Director SOCHRO-Somalia,Uganda had condemn the deadly shelling of the African Union troops AMISOM saying that the AU troops shelled more different areas in the capital as there had been clashes going in Mogadishu.
AMSIOM troops used their heaviest weapons for the civilians. They caused more casualties of deaths, injuries and large displacement. So we can say that it is out of law bombardment,” said Mr. Mataan Ali.
The Mr. Mataan Ali Hassan the Country Director SOCHRO-Somalia,Uganda lastly call for AMISOM troops and those who are against the transitional government of Somalia to stop exchanging heavy weapons to save the lives of the civilians dying in the capital.
