Somali insurgents have attacked a military convoy killing 11 army soldiers about 13 km (8 miles) south of the country’s capital Mogadishu.
The troops were killed as insurgents employing bazookas targeted their convoy, a Press TV correspondent reported.
Somalia has been without an effective central government since President Siad Barre was overthrown in 1991. Since then, the African state has been plagued with ensuing clashes between the insurgents and Ethiopian-backed forces of the transitional government. Source Press TV |
