Insurgents kill three Somali soldiers in the capital, Mogadishu despite ongoing talks between the nation’s premier and clan elders.

Armed men attacked a group of government soldiers in north Mogadishu, during which three of the troops were killed, Press TV correspondent in Mogadishu reported.

One civilian, reportedly a doctor, was also killed in the crossfire that followed the attack.

In a separate incident elsewhere in north Mogadishu, Somali forces’ random fire targeted civilians, killing a two-year-old child whose mother was also seriously injured.

Meanwhile, Somali Prime Minster Nur Hassan Hussein, also known as Nur Adde, is negotiating with members from Hawiye clan in Aden-Adde International Airport in South Mogadishu, which is heavily guarded by African Union peacekeeping forces.

The talks are said to be focused on how to build a successful peace process in the capital and other parts of Somalia where rebel armed groups are fighting the interim Somali government’s forces, backed by the Ethiopian military.
