WHO WE ARE:

SomaliSwiss Media is an independent news and information gateway far all who spoke Somali and English, especially Somali Diasporas like immigrants, Refugees and communities at large all over the world for the different related issues such us; news and other matters that related to them.

Started in 2004, SomaliSwiss media is a community-based and information gateway that registered in Swiss, assisting Somali Refugees and immigrants through the various stages  into Switzerland and then to other Somali Diaspora in Europe and throughout the world.

Our offices is in Switzerland and UK, and we have affiliate Branches and Representatives in Norway, Sweden, USA, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, UAE and all regions in the Home Country. Our Audiences mainly  Somali Diaspora is all over the world.

Although some Somalis living outside of the homeland left early 1980s, the vast majority emigrated due to the cycles of famine and war that have characterized the failed state period since the collapse of the Siad Barre regime in 1991.

As estimated in 2011 by the United Nations, the Somali diaspora is about  1-1.5 million people worldwide. Besides the Switzerland, the largest numbers of Somalis in the West live in; UK, USA and Canada,  mostly North America (Toronto, Minneapolis, Columbus Ohio) as well as other regions with slightly smaller concentrations in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, and many other Countries.

There are significant numbers in Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Qatar, Jordan, Yemen and they are one of the largest immigrant communities in United Arab Emirates  UAE.

OUR MISSION.

1. To promote public awareness of the situation in Somalia and the needs for Somali’s.
2. To support Somali’s progress towards peace, state-re-building, social and economic development.
3. To encourage awareness of and vigilance on human rights, freedom of information, and the empowerment of Women,  Children and minority groups.
4. To promote increased assistance to the Somali Diaspora and cooperation with other Groups, Organizations and Institutions like; Somali Parliament and government, respected Somali individuals and where/when necessary for other Governments and organizations.
5. To liaise with like-minded Somali bodies and Unions in the world as well as foreigners on issues facing Somalis by sharing  relevant and current situation updates to best utilize reliable information’s as well as other resources.

TO REACH OUR OBJECTIVES.

SomaliSwiss media’s first priority is to ensure that our Community’s need for information related to them is available at all times. It  is very important to our Somali Community to have reliable information about their home country, Other countries they live and more from Somali Diaspora in the Globe and that is some thing, they are expecting from us (SomaliSwiss).

SomaliSwiss Media team is to advance the understanding of the Community, strive them towards rebuilding their Country, becoming Peace, economically stronger, educationally achieving higher, mentally & physically healthier, socially more confident, professionally better skilled, politically peace, Democratic more powerful nation, culturally more respectful, towards others and themselves, and above all better integrated within the mainstream societies in the Globe, that they live within.
